Week Six

If I panic, everyone else panics

Wow! I’m two-thirds of the way done with my first course at CSUMB. I feel like this week I’ve started to have better prioritization for my coursework. I’m starting to make sure each day that I complete a specific number of tasks or make sure that I spent atleast an hour or two studying each day.

On Sunday(2/16/20) my group and I had our weekly meeting. We discussed a few capstone ideas such as:

  • How do video game emulators work?
  • How do you store sound digitally?
  • What are the differences between 3G, 4G, and 5G?

I think all three capstone ideas are really good, and I can see us really working hard on all of them. The one that I particularly like is the “How do video game emulators work”. The main reason why is because I’m a retro gamer, I still play my N64 from time to time (OOT is my favorite game of all time!), and I think it’s interesting how we’re able to emulate these consoles to play these games.

This week was a much lighter week as we are working on our ethics paper; unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to finish up my rough draft as this weekend my fiance and I had a few house projects we desperately needed to finish.

One of our assignments was to create a cover page and a resume for our dream career after graduation. For me my dream career is to be a front end engineer. What it made me realize is that for specific careers such as front end or a product designer, your resume needs to really stand out. I took the time to really work on the flow, layout, and color scheme for my resume and cover letter to make sure that it flowed nicely.

Well that’s all for this week. Here’s to a good next week and staying on top of my assignments!!!
