Week One is almost over!
This week felt like a major writing review week, especially for me since I haven’t taken a writing class in over a year. This week we heavily reviewed APA Format and how to create a reference sheet. As someone whose last English course was mainly in MLA Format, the review of APA was greatly appreciated.
My group had a Google Hangouts video call last night to get together and work on our assignment. We watched a short video called “Mastering Online Group Work: Tips for Distance Learners” – SDSU Continuing and Distance Education. It was my group’s first time doing video chat, as last time we only did a Discord call. It was nice to be able to put a face to a name.

Industry Analysis Outline & Reference Sheet
This week we’re getting started on our first paper! The paper is going to be an Industry analysis to help us really think and hone in on what kind of career or field that we want to be in. This has been super interesting for me because I haven’t really taken the time to think about what I really want to do when I graduate. The career that I have chosen to research more about is a React Native Front End Engineer. Preparing for this essay has made me do a lot of research into the different fields, tech stacks, and the different classes that I’ll be taking at CSUMB. I definitely feel as though when I graduate from CSUMB I’ll be prepared for the future.

This week we have 3 quizzes:
- Getting to know CSUMB
- Five Step Strategy Reading
- Writing Lab Module
These quizzes for me felt fairly straight forward since I would just re-read the material before taking each quiz.
